KVH Studios Head of Music, Nick Bewes, is here again for a look back at some of the new music that has been added to our in-store music services during November.
Two of the biggest female artists in music right now have teamed up for a massive tune. Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa have released ‘Prisoner’, the latest from Miley’s new album ‘Plastic Hearts’.
November is of course Children in Need month, and this year BBC Radio 2 created a new version of the Oasis song ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’. The song and video feature the likes of Cher, Robbie Williams, Kylie, Bryan Adams and Clean Bandit amongst many others.
One of the most consistent artists of the last decade or so is Gregory Porter. His latest single is the brilliant ‘Mister Holland’. Gregory says that the song is about equality; “It’s about the desire for mutual respect and the desire for a young man to be treated like an average teenager.”
This month also saw the much-anticipated return of the Foo Fighters. ‘Shame Shame’ is the first track to be released from their new album and it’s a very different sound for the band. The video is also very different from what they have done in the past too.
I might be wrong, but I have a feeling that the video for Paloma Faith’s ‘Gold’ might have looked a bit different if it had been released in any other year than 2020, but what a joy it is! Video of the year!
