It’s been a fairly quiet month, nothing much going on…well apart from the Euros, Wimbledon starting, and Ed Sheeran has returned! Here’s the highlights from our Head of Music, Nick Bewes, of some of the tracks added to our playlists over the last month.

There’s obviously only one song to start with and it’s the comeback single from Ed Sheeran, ‘Bad Habits’. It’s the first taste of what will become his new album which he is currently recording. The video is a low-key affair!

We’ve been fans of the superb Joy Crookes for a while, and she doesn’t disappoint with the latest track, ‘Feet Don’t Fail Me Now’, which she wrote in light of the political events of last year. It’s written from the perspective of someone who finds it easier to remain complicit out of fear of speaking up, and what those consequences might be. A very powerful track.

Lorde has been quiet for a while, her last album was released in 2017, but she returned this month with ‘Solar Power’, the title track of her new album which is due in August. The project was inspired by the importance of taking care of the environment and preserving the world.

Aziya is likely to be a new name to most people, but not for long. She’s only released 3 singles, ‘Blood’ being the latest, and already British Vogue have called her “an emerging rockstar for Generation Z,”. We think she is great.

And finally, Calvin Harris teamed up with man of the moment, Tom Grennan for a new single called ‘By Your Side’. The video is, well, colourful! Tom loved filming it apparently. Sunglasses at the ready!

And there you have it for another month. Keep up to date with our playlist additions by following us on Twitter @kvhstudiosmusic.
