July 2021

It’s been a hot one recently, and we’re not just talking about the weather! There have been some fantastic new music tracks released and KVH Studios Head of Music, Nick Bewes, is here to guide you through a small selection that have been added to our music services

We have been fans of James Blake’s superb music for over ten years and we can’t quite believe it, but he keeps getting better and better. His new album is due for release in September, and the first taste of it is his single ‘Say What You Will’. The video features Finneas, brother of Billie Eilish of course, who is a rather good producer and songwriter in his own right.

Also returning this month is Sam Fender. ‘Seventeen Going Under’ is the title track of his new album due for release in October. We have to agree with some of the reviews we’ve read, the track does have a Springsteen feel to it. Impressive return.

Next, one of the biggest boy bands on the planet have teamed up with of the most popular singer songwriters for a perfect slice of Pop! Step forward BTS with ‘Permission to Dance’, co-written by the one and only Ed Sheeran.

While we are talking about Ed, he’s just signed the brilliant Maisie Peters to his Gingerbread Records label, and the duo have also written a single called ‘Psycho’.

Finally this month, some calypso-flavoured indie pop from Cassia, who we first played at the beginning of 2019. They have just released the rather good ‘Slow’.

And there you have it for another month. Keep up to date with our playlist additions by following us on Twitter @kvhstudiosmusic, and our New Music Spotify playlist.

Using music, sound effects, clips and multiple voices or personalities in a creative and entertaining format increases engagement and the likelihood of information being absorbed. In turn, achieving effective results from your workforce and for your business overall.

There are a variety of ways in which you can use the medium of audio to motivate and inform your staff. All eliminating the need for them to read printouts or for screen time in their busy working day. The most popular with our clients being…

Own-brand radio

Out of hours business updates or staff shows provide your colleagues with a regular appointment to listen to their own-brand radio and take in the latest information and guidance from the business. Plus, if live, you can make sure your staff feel involved and included through interaction such as song requests or competitions/quizzes.

Moto Rugby opens with our state-of-the-art digital signage package

By | Uncategorised | No Comments

Our digital signage solutions come in all shapes and sizes to fit a wide range of environments and purposes. Not only do we retrofit sites, but we also work with clients to develop solutions throughout new builds. Therefore, are part of the process from the very beginning.

In 2018, long-standing client Moto Hospitality asked us to provide them with an audio-visual package for a new site they were planning to open. They were looking for a state-of-the-art, digital signage solution that incorporated both a large screen video wall and individual menu screens for each of their concessions.

The entire process required close planning and development with many different teams within Moto, including close collaboration with builders, architects, and developers plus a number of site visits and workshop meetings.

Our digital solution provides live television, real-time traffic and weather information, automated day-parted visual menus and offers for concessions such as Costa, KFC, M&S, WHSmith and Greggs, and the opportunity for third-party and external advertising with all scheduling. In addition, we implemented a digital audio system as an extension of the service we offer across the estate.

KVH Studios were heavily involved in the concept design and completed the full installation. Following this, we manage all the content for this site and others across the estate by uploading and scheduling supplied visuals as per the client’s brief. All content is logged and monitored through our in-house content schedule which Moto have access to as and when required, plus we lead on further development and ongoing maintenance.

The new £40m Moto site at Rugby finally opened in May of this year following delays due to Covid-19 and it looks fantastic. KVH Studios is so proud to be a part of this fantastic new development and so glad to hear our client is impressed and pleased with the results.

Why on-hold messaging?

By | Uncategorised | No Comments

1. Make a good first impression

Hello? Is anyone there?…. Silence, it’s uncomfortable isn’t it? Will someone come back on the line or not… it really leaves you with a sense of uncertainty, especially when it lasts so long. So this is the first and most obvious reason to include an on-hold service on your telephony system. Make the right first impression and greet your customers with a welcoming voice and positive music. All whilst representing your brand personality.

2. Decrease perceived wait times

During busy periods, wait times on hold can be long. Keep your callers entertained and informed through a brand specific, professionally crafted on-hold service. Hand-selected tracks and friendly, interesting messaging will distract callers from the wait. This ensures a more positive experience and decreases the likelihood of hang-ups.

3. Promote to a captive audience

Develop new business and upsell to existing customers through on-hold messaging. It’s a great opportunity to inform a captive audience of the products, services and deals you have available, keeping them informed and driving both store and web traffic. Due to the ease of audio, this can also be updated regularly to ensure its fresh and accurate.

4. Boost efficiency

Manage call traffic by introducing an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to direct callers to the appropriate department through the use of voice or DTMF tones input via a keypad. During busy periods, callers can be informed of the longer wait times and where they rank in the queue. This allows them to decide whether calling back at another time is more suitable. You can also provide a call back option, so the caller doesn’t have to wait on the line.

5. Save on costs

Through IVR systems, you can eliminate the need for a receptionist or employees being required to answer calls. This will increase productivity and potentially save on cost. You may feel this is a less personal approach, but you can always provide the option of speaking to an advisor, so callers have the choice.
